About

I am a pre-registration trainee pharmacist working for South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, but working across Kings Health Partners AHSN in South London. My interests in pharmacy and wider healthcare focus on improving patient centred care at the interface between convention sectors of care, with particular interest in mental healthcare and the role of the pharmacist in treating and protecting patients. I also have an interest in professional advocacy, particularly in parliamentary, council and inter-professional settings.

I formerly studied at the University of East Anglia between 2012 and 2017, completing a six month intercalation in late 2016 to pursue sabbatical work at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. My undergraduate research (in psychiatric pharmacy education practice) was supervised by Dr Paul McDermott.

I have experience of working with a wide variety of health and social care professionals to deliver high quality, client-patient centred care. Working as an Activities Facilitator in the private care sector until I began studying at the University of East Anglia in 2012, I have since worked for two NHS Foundation Trusts: firstly as a Clerical Officer; and secondly as a Healthcare Assistant, working in a variety of outpatient, inpatient and acute care settings, but specialising in Emergency and Paediatric Care. During my sabbatical, I worked as an Assistant Practitoner within the haematology department (with a focus on anticoagulation care) at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.

I am also active in a variety of representative capacities. I am a former member of the British Pharmaceutical Students’ Association (BPSA) Executive, and have represented MPharm and OSPAP students and pre-registration trainees to a wide variety of stakeholders, whilst also facilitating the provision of services to augment student development throughout their studies and training year. I was formerly the Association’s Eastern Area Coordinator and Secretary General between July 2014 and July 2016.
